Bayada Fitness Coordinator in Auburndale, Massachusetts
BAYADA Home Health Care has an immediate opening for a Full Time Fitness Coordinator working in the Massachusetts area.
The Fitness Coordinator works as part of an interdisciplinary team to support the fitness and wellness offerings delivered by our Fitness and Wellness office to senior living community partners.
They work closely with the FWF office Director, DASL and PM to support the program’s integrity, quality and customer satisfaction.
The Fitness Coordinator is responsible for developing and providing structured fitness and wellness programming consistent with the position’s qualifications, professional practices, and ethical standards. They develop relationships with the community’s residents and staff to promote participation in fitness and wellness.
The Fitness Coordinator also supports the Fitness Specialists by providing them with indirect supervision, training and professional growth opportunities.
Teach up to 12 classes per week.
Participate in the collection of fitness and wellness survey data.
Advise the FWF Director as to staffing needs based on fitness offering days/times/locations.
Advise the FWF Director in the recruitment, interviewing and hiring of Fitness Specialist.
Advice the FWF Director on equipment and supplies need for all fitness classes, for example, theraband, balls, yoga blocks, etc.
Participate in onboarding Fitness Specialists to assure consistency in fitness class content, performance of fitness assessments and attendance reporting.
Supervise Fitness Specialists by participating in ongoing site visits and attending classes.
Provide input on the performance of the Fitness Specialists to the FWF Director.
Lead group fitness classes.
Develop and conduct training sessions/seminars to equip and develop the Fitness Specialists.
Develop and coordinate standardization of fitness and wellness curriculum, such as cardiovascular, strengthening, tai chi, yoga, etc. to ensure a diversity of fitness class offerings.
Participate in regular SRL/visit office meetings/calls to review program status, quality indicators and planning for future growth.
Contribute to customer relations and marketing activities as requested by the DASL, PM, and FWF Director.
Function as a resource for the local visit office clinical staff and provide in-service/cross collaboration opportunities to identify fitness class participants who may have skilled needs.
Develop, in conjunction with the PM and community’s activity staff, community events such as screenings, lectures, health fairs, and other wellness events as deemed appropriate.
Participate in new resident/client orientations for marketing and orienting new residents to our programs and offerings.
- Bachelor’s degree required in exercise science, health promotion, kinesiology, or other related field
Exercise certification required
Geriatric exercise certification preferred
Experience with older adults is preferred
Experience with IL/AL/MC communities
