PHYS 2201: General Physics I

The Department of Chemistry and Physics of Emmanuel College is seeking an adjunct faculty member to teach one calculus-based Physics I lab section for the Fall 2017 semester. The adjunct faculty member will have a choice of one of two section times; Thursdays 9:25AM-12:05PM or Thursday 1:40PM-4:20PM.

This course is a mathematical treatment of introductory physics using calculus. This course provides an introduction to the classical mechanics of particles and rigid bodies. Topics include: vectors, momentum, energy, angular momentum, conservation laws, basic thermodynamics, Newton's laws of motion, statics, projectile motion, oscillations and orbits.

A Master's degree in physics and teaching experience at the undergraduate level are required, and a Ph.D. is preferred (ABD will be considered).
