ADS Instructional Designer- Virtual Operations in Boston, Massachusetts

Virtual Instructional Designer – Alexa Data Services (ADS) Virtual Operations is a newly created role that will be responsible for the instructional design and development of our eLearning courseware and solutions. This role will be responsible for developing and maintaining training programs that support high performing Data Associates working across multiple contact media in a variety of geographies. This includes creating engaging process and tool content, including remote instructor led training, eLearning and self-paced learning, virtual classroom design, building tool kits and study guides, and performance support aids for all ADS Virtual locales. The ideal candidate will be comfortable in a fast-paced, multi-tasked, high energy environment. They will be an adult learning expert and a creative and analytical problem solver with a passion for delivering results


· Perform needs and task analysis, scope projects, and evaluate existing documentation to identify the most appropriate e-training approach and content to meet the learning needs of Amazon virtual data associates in multiple global locations.

· Conducts stakeholder and SME interviews to determine, recommend and document project instructional standards, learner engagement strategies and evaluation plan

· Design and develop creative learner-centered, performance-based training programs, modules, and materials in multiple modalities including synchronous remote learning methodologies, blended classroom learning, interactive e-learning modules, videos, device learning labs, job aides, facilitator guides, and auxiliary practice, review, and resource materials.

· Design and develop new hire and tenured testing and assessments for virtual associates

· Design, develop and publish engaging course content and learning activities for virtual modalities with continuous evaluation/improvement cycles for the course content

· Adapt instructional materials created for one format to another format (in classroom to eLearning and virtual)

· Revise and rewrite course content based on data illustrating ROI or efficacy of training modules

· Manage training content/updates residing on SharePoint or other content management systems

· Upload, test and maintain content to an LMS

International travel may be required up to 20%

  • Bachelor’s Degree in education, communication, or related field

  • Relevant experience in an instructional design role, preferably 5+ years

  • Demonstrated experience designing and developing ILT/eLearning materials Experience collaborating with global stakeholders, SMEs, front-line managers and front-line employees

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of eLearning development tools

  • Experience with coordination and organization for global initiatives

  • Demonstrated adult learning implementation and driving performance through impactful training

  • Comprehensive knowledge and proven application of learner-centered, performance-based instructional theories and adult learning principles in multi-modal instruction

  • Ability to assess training effectiveness and ROI to stakeholders and leaders

  • Experience with internationalization and localization

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in education, communication, or related field

  • Portfolio of sample work required

  • Experience in instructional design within related field (big data, speech and language data, etc.) a plus

  • Master’s Degree in Instructional Design, Education Technology, or similar field

  • Industry certifications in instructional design, curriculum development, performance improvement, project management, and content-specific certifications as appropriate (CPLP, CPT, PMP, etc.)

  • Proficiency in Captivate, Articulate, and Adobe Photoshop skills

  • Experience using a LMS to host content

  • Some experience in classroom facilitation preferred

  • Experience creating technical/tool training for systems-based learning
