The Department of English at Simmons College invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track, Assistant Professor in Global Anglophone literature (possibly specializing in African, Caribbean, or South Asian literature and culture). Desired subfields include: Global film and visual culture, Global / Transnational / Postcolonial literary studies, Digital Humanities, and/or U.S. Ethnic Literatures. The position will begin September 1, 2018. All requirements for the PhD must be complete by the start date.

The successful candidate will be expected to offer a variety of courses in Global Anglophone Literature, including introductory and upper division courses. We are particularly interested in candidates who have a strong record of interdisciplinary work and who would be able to teach in the Simmons College general education program, the Simmons PLAN. Candidates must be fully committed to liberal arts education and to excellence in teaching and student advising. Candidates must also demonstrate a significant scholarly agenda.
