The Coordinator of Pharmacy Experiential Education is primarily responsible for clinical administrative activities and teaching that support student clinical learning experiences during their introductory and advanced rotations and related courses.
Coordinate or initiate communication and activity between students, the office of experiential education, department of pharmacy practice and external preceptors Together with the database coordinator, oversee the daily functioning of the WEB based experiential scheduling system and resolve user database problems Assist the directors in overseeing the work of the departmental administrative assistant for accuracy and timeliness. Examples include activities such as organizing the schedules of the directors, processing affiliation agreements, completion of health clearance and background check requirements, paying of institutional stipends, submitting of student grades to the registrar, processing of adjunct appointment letters, and providing students with necessary information and forms required for rotation Assist the directors in reviewing the experiential rotation syllabi, manuals and other materials; coordinate the annual updating process Assist the directors in the development of new rotation sites; help facilitate the maintaining of good working relationships with current sites; assist in the coordinating of student placements based on department policies and procedures Assist the directors and coordinate preceptor development activities such as site visits, campus events, and various meetings and training sessions Coordinate and facilitate rotation assignments for “Unassigned” and any special “Rotation Requests” in cooperation with the directors Coordinate and participate in the introductory and advanced rotation information sessions and orientations for students and new preceptors Assist the director in facilitating central communication and activities with faculty, preceptors and experiential staff at each campus Participate in department meetings, committees, and task forces; coordinate follow-up activity Serve as the facilitator for students, faculty and preceptors in all matters pertaining to experiential education; engage in conflict resolution in a thoughtful, professional, service-based manner. Refer any issues to the appropriate person as necessary Work with the director in planning, coordinating, communicating and implementing initiatives that may originate from the office of pharmacy experiential education
Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the supervisor.
Required: Prior experience in a pharmacy practice environment Licensed pharmacist in Massachusetts Strong organizational, administrative and database skills Ability to respond effective and sensitively to inquiries and concerns Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
Desired: Pharm.D or equivalent preferred
