Responsibilities:

The Graduate Assistant - Center for International Studies (CIS) will assist the Director of the Center for International Studies with daily operations, study and service abroad, planning and implementation of international summer exchange programs and other CIS projects and events.

Serve as primary contact and project manager for summer exchange programs (this includes possible weekends and after-hours work). Work collaboratively with MCPHS University professional staff, faculty and departments to arrange exchange visitor programs and schedules. This includes making room reservations, requesting work orders, ordering catering, coordinating billing, etc. Responsible for communication with MCPHS University partner institutions and organizations participating in summer exchange programs. Support study and service abroad activities including, but not limited to, managing student cohorts in Terra Dotta Software, student advising, pre-departure preparation and re-entry programming. Provide administrative and collaborative support to the CIS. Assist with the coordination and implementation of programs sponsored by CIS. Develop and publish a monthly, online CIS newsletter. Assist the International Programs Office with planning and execution of events such as pre-departure orientations, re-entry sessions, study abroad information sessions, etc. Attend monthly Study Abroad Council meetings with Colleges of the Fenway and Global Education Opportunities (GEO) Center colleagues. Attend events on behalf of the CIS such as Admissions Open Houses, Accepted Students Days, Orientation, etc.

Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

Required: Currently pursuing or planning to pursue a master?s degree in higher education and/or international affairs, global studies, education, or a related field concurrently while in the Graduate Assistant position Leadership skills Knowledge of higher education and international education Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize projects Strong interpersonal and intercultural skills
