We have an opening for an experienced, innovative, strategic *Instructional Designer in our Boston, MA or New York City, NY office. /Does this sound like you?/ / / Learning Science Platforms is a new, entrepreneurial team within McGraw-Hill Education. The group’s mission is to leverage MHE’s software and technology by enabling third parties to use MHE’s authoring tools to create and deliver their own adaptive content. This team is responsible for managing the customer relationships and ensuring success in deploying MHE software.

Reporting to the VP, Customer Success, the LSP Instructional Designer will be a key member of the of the team responsible for successful customer implementation. The team’s broad goal is to help train customers (our customers are higher education institutions, corporations, and publishers) in the use of a new set of tools, and manage all aspects of a successful implementation.

Critical Functions:



/Prototype Creation –/The Instructional Designer will build quick, low-fi prototypes of courses (using client material, OER, and more). to provide a proof of concept and demonstrate the capabilities of the software

/Course Development –/The Instructional Designer will on occasion be required to build an entire course (or a portion of a course) using all available resources (client material, OER, MHE content, and more). The Instructional Designer will need to have the skill and knowledge of the platform to build a high quality course

/Consulting & Thought Leadership –/Working with third party in-house instructional design teams, the Instructional Designer will contribute to the conceptualization of high quality adaptive learning experience. The instructional designer will a) lead meetings/trainings, b) create instructional design guidelines, and c) review and QC in-progress projects to help ensure clients are optimizing the capabilities of the platform

A successful candidate will: * Work to train and on-board new members of the Learning Science Platform team, particularly new Instructional Designers * Develop processes and documentations to ensure a consistent product, regardless of customer, discipline, timeline, etc. * Build relationships with existing and potential customers A successful candidate will have: o Bachelor's degree in instructional technology, instructional design, or related field o 2-5 years of digital publishing or media development experience o Experience with instructional design, preferably in corporate learning, higher education, and/or publishing o Understanding of teaching trends, pedagogy, and strategies for improving teaching and learning preferred o Ability to manage and deliver multiple digital projects simultaneously o Highly organized and able to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment Next Steps: * If you’re interested in this position, submit your resume. * We’ll review your resume, and if you might be a match, we’ll contact you. * After our first conversation, you may be invited to interview with others at McGraw-Hill Education.
