Position title: Ambulatory Clinical Pharmacy Specialist – Hematology/Oncology
Under the supervision of the Clinical Pharmacy Manager-Hematology/Oncology, and according to department policies, procedures, and guidelines, is responsible for the dispensing of prescribed specialty pharmaceuticals. Ensures optimum patient outcomes related to specialty medication use by preventing or resolving drug-related issues and optimizing the drug therapy of patients. Provides drug information to patients and families, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. Integrally involved in education of pharmacists, residents and students. Additionally, the Pharmacy Clinical Specialist coordinates clinical projects, assists with formulary coordination and policy revision, ensures billing compliance and revenue capture and helps to lead other projects as needed
Serves as a resource and drug expert in all specialty medications. Help maximize specialty pharmacy volume. Strives to increase knowledge through research and writing activities.
PharmD + PGY2 training or Board Certification in Oncology Pharmacy or
With post-graduate training (PharmD or general residency),
Must have at least 3 years of pertinent work experience Hematology Oncology or
With Bachelor’s Degree as highest level of education:
Must have at least five years of work experience in Hematology Oncology
