Reporting to the Director of Student Center Services, the Program Assistant for Commuter Student Engagement is responsible for developing and maintaining an ongoing relationship with the commuter students. Through collaborative connections with students, administration, and neighboring communities, the Program Assistant will assist the Director of Student Center Services with education, support, communication, and involvement of the off campus students ensuring an engaged student life experience. The Program Assistant will also work to facilitate assessment of the needs, satisfaction, and outcomes of Commuter Student Life to provide recommendations for services and resources for commuter students.

This is a ten month, part-time (15 hours/week), and stipend-based position. The compensation for this position is $2,000 a semester. ?Advise the Commuter Advisory Board (CAB) comprised of students volunteering to represent the commuter student population. ?Coordinate and implement educational programming opportunities for off campus students on important trends within the commuter student life experience. ?Provide outreach to Emmanuel College student groups, offices, and departments through presentations to promote programs, resources, and services to maximize these offerings. ?Research current issues, literature, and trends in commuter student education. ?Assist with recruiting, selecting, training, monitoring, and evaluating a peer advocacy/commuter ambassador program. ?Update website related to Commuter Student Engagement programs, events, and services. ?Attend campus events to network and support the entire Emmanuel College community. ?Manage the commuter student life services including, but not limited to: commuter lockers, commuter lounge, commuter town halls, etc.

A Bachelor's degree is required. Past Student Activities/Commuter Student Life experience is strongly preferred. A candidate should be a graduate student at a regional accredited college or university in Student Personnel, Higher Education Administration, Counseling or other related field. Candidates must possess and exhibit positive role modeling behavior as it relates to academic performance, social interaction, and policy enforcement as outlined in the Emmanuel College Student Handbook.
