Job Summary The Division of Therapeutics Research and Infectious Disease Epidemiology (TIDE) in the Department of Population Medicine (DPM) at Harvard Medical School and Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Institute is the home of several large, complex, multi-institutional research initiatives using real-world data (RWD) and distributed analytic approaches to support major national public health activities in collaboration with federal and industry funders. Its mission is to improve health care delivery and population health through research and education, in partnership with health plans, delivery systems, and public health agencies. TIDE is seeking a qualified and motivated Research Fellow to join the team for our Post-doctoral Research Fellowship in Pharmacoepidemiology and Real-world Evidence. The Research Fellow will perform research under the guidance of Darren Toh, ScD, DPM Endowed Professor and Associate Director of TIDE, and/or other faculty members and research scientists. The Fellow will have the opportunity to lead and participate in a wide range of comparative effectiveness and safety research studies and public health surveillance projects, including NIH-funded and AHRQ-funded projects, FDA-funded Sentinel program (www.sentinelinitiative.org), and other federally and industry-funded projects. These projects leverage multiple real-world data (RWD) sources, including administrative claims databases and electronic health record (EHR) databases, available in-house or through distributed data networks. Specific projects will be determined based on the Fellows background and interests. Additionally, the Fellow will have an opportunity to participate in other activities, including grant preparation activities (e.g., writing research plans, supporting budget preparation, and submitting IRB applications) and journal review and editorial activities.
