Position Summary Residential Teacher Responsible for coordinating clinical education services for children and adolescents with a wide variety of behavioral, psychiatric, medical, and developmental diagnoses. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: · Interacts with patients in a therapeutic manner that facilitates adaptive coping and life skills through implementation of education plan goals and objectives, in support of clinical educators. · Ensure that a developmentally appropriate strength-based, trauma-sensitive treatment model is reflected in classroom procedures. · Upon patient admission, completes Massachusetts SPED-9/Doctor's Form and submit to administration. · Coordinate and provide data required for reimbursement of educational tutoring to appropriate school departments in coordination with fiscal department. · Keep daily attendance for each patient. · Develops collaborative relationships with school systems in order to best coordinate handoff of educational services. · Initiate follow up communication with school systems to ensure coverage of the patient's educational services. · Upon patient discharge, submit completed attendance form with calculated days and hours of attendance to administration for billing school system. · Maintain confidentiality of records and files, in compliance with all hospital confidentiality policies and regulations. · Maintain communication with patient financial services department when indicated. · Communicates regularly with the Program Director & RN Manager, for the purpose of coordinating duties and responsibilities with overall functions of program and hospital. · Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: · A Bachelor's Degree in related field · Massachusetts Teacher's License · Prior experience working with children and adolescents with behavioral and psychiatric conditions preferred.
