Job Description

ACADEMIC ADMINISTRATOR, Supply Chain Management Program, to lead academic and student-service functions for the MIT Supply Chain Management blended (SCMb) program, a master’s degree program that combines online education plus one semester at MIT. Will serve as a member of the program’s staff leadership team, participating in key strategic and operational planning activities for the program. Responsibilities include advising all SCMb students regarding academic and student life matters; responding to inquiries from prospective students, planning and administering the graduate application process, and managing new student onboarding; managing SCMb curriculum development and academic administration and planning, working closely with the executive director to engage faculty and research staff and define appropriate content for the SCMB; representing SCMb in all Institute-level issues with the Registrar’s Office, including managing catalog descriptions and course evaluations; serving as the primary resource for faculty and students regarding MIT and department policies and procedures regarding curriculum, grading, teaching resources, and other academic matters; managing the SCMb program calendar, academic database, and student files; planning class schedules and teaching assignments, including ensuring classrooms are assigned; updating relevant MIT webpages and records; and performing other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred) in engineering, management, or related field; At least five years' experience in an educational or administrative position or in a related area; excellent project management skills; self-motivation; excellent organizational and communication skills; deadline orientation; ability to deliver high quality results while managing multiple priorities; and proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Experience planning and executing events and meetings preferred, as is proficiency with MS Access or SQL and Web-based tools. Job #14755-P
