Job Description

DIRECTOR OF SPECIAL PROJECTS, Admissions and Student Financial Services (SFS), to work closely with the dean of admissions and student financial services and the leadership team, to plan, manage, and implement a wide range of projects and priorities. Will independently manage multiple projects from inception to completion and help ensure that specified projects led by others within the organization are meeting milestones and remain on track; research issues, gather and analyze data, meet with a range of constituents and stakeholders, and advise the dean and others regarding findings and recommended next steps; collaborate with the leadership team to identify opportunities such as new initiatives, relationships, program development, and operational efficiency; work with admissions and SFS research staff on data projects as a thought partner and assisting with research; create and present reports to the dean, leadership team, and key stakeholders; and establish strong collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including MIT senior leadership, faculty, staff, and students.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: a bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred); a minimum of seven years’ experience in academic administration; excellent research and analysis skills; presentation skills; strong written and verbal communication skills; outstanding interpersonal skills including ability to work well with a broad range of constituents; ability to successfully collaborate across organizational boundaries; project management skills; meticulous attention to detail; and proven ability to independently lead groups to generate creative solutions. Experience in admissions, or student financial services desirable. MIT experience would be a plus. Job #14685-Q
