Sanofi Group Head of Global Medical Information Content- Genzyme/Specialty Products in Cambridge, Massachusetts

The Global Content, Medical Information Lead is responsible for the development, management and implementation of global Genzyme/Specialty strategic and tactical content plans for Medical Information (MI). The position will lead the global MI content needs which are responsible for responding to unsolicited requests for information on Sanofi products from Healthcare Professionals, Consumers and internal associates utilizing accurate, complete and fair balanced evidence based information.

The position will collaborate with multi-level positions across countries and functional groups within their respective therapeutic area, to lead the development, distribution and curation of scientific MI content; and ensure deliverables are aligned with organizational strategic objectives. The position will manage compliance of all activities, that systems and SOP / processes are in place; responsible for daily correspondence activities including oversight of writing staff. This position will report to the Head of Global Medical Information Content.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Direct the content plan, documentation research/evaluation, development, curation and timely dissemination of product information within a Therapeutic Area to both external customers (healthcare professionals, consumers) and internal customers (sales representatives, medical liaisons, legal, etc.) and ensure that all activities are conducted within an optimal regulatory framework. Collaborate at senior leadership levels across TA, countries and functional stakeholders (Home Office/Field Based Medical Units, Regulatory, Legal, Compliance, etc.) on the strategic objectives, tactical priorities, deliverables and timelines. Leadership of TA’s global content MI team, to assure high quality medical writing practices, building the team’s understanding and compliance with policies, procedures and processes, and to serve as the Medical Information subject matter experts for the Therapeutic Area product(s). Stay informed of current developments in the medical, scientific, legal and regulatory communities through appropriate familiarity with current literature, study reports Codes of Practice, Standard Operating Practices and guidelines. Provide insight and leadership on departmental strategic objectives, project budget review, vendor resource budget management, MI KPIs and performance metrics. Provide leadership and attendance at meetings of professional associations for educational collaboration, and engagement with Pharmacy Schools and industry based Fellowship programs.

REQUIRED EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND AND JOB-RELATED EXPERIENCE

Post-bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university (e.g., Masters, MBA or equivalent)

Area of specialization: Advanced degree (PharmD, PhD, MD, MS) in a health care related field.

Minimum of five years of related technical experience with at least 3 years management in a Medical Information department within the pharmaceutical industry

Functional expertise-knowledge of Sanofi products, product labeling and Federal Regulations pertaining to pharmaceutical products, promotion and industry sponsored scientific and educational activities.

Strong knowledge of medical literature and drug information databases; strong ability to evaluate and communicate scientific data.

Communication skills-Excellent written/oral communication skills including an excellent understanding of medical writing. Strong presentation skills.

Leadership skills – Strong project management, process development, and organizational skills identifying and understanding issues, problems, and opportunities using effective approaches for choosing a course of action or developing appropriate solutions. Capable of making difficult decisions.
