LEADERSHIP GIVING OFFICER, Mechanical Engineering (MechE), to create and execute a comprehensive strategic development plan designed to raise financial support and awareness for MechE. May also work with the department head to assess and seek support for additional project-based fund-raising initiatives. Will report jointly to the School of Engineering’s (SOE) assistant dean for development and the department head of Mechanical Engineering. Responsibilities will include building, managing, and collaborating on a portfolio of 25 to 75 prospects (includes core team assignments); working collaboratively with department head/faculty and Resource Development colleagues to identify and engage prospective donors, expanding the donor base and philanthropic support of the department and the SOE; overseeing and/or assisting with developing and disseminating content and collateral related to departmental initiatives including opportunities for funding; taking part in face-to-face donor/prospect visits and strategically orchestrating meetings and other interactions between faculty/staff and donors or prospects; maximizing department head/faculty travel to engage with prospective donors; and providing and updating all relevant donor/prospect records.
REQUIRED: a bachelor’s degree, preferably in a technical, engineering, or scientific field; five years of direct fund-raising experience, preferably with a higher education organization; exceptional interpersonal, organizational, project and time management, and oral and written communication skills; the ability to manage multiple projects with confidentiality and discretion; and a high level of computer competency that includes proficiency with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
