About the Team

The Global Field Enablement team is responsible for identifying and driving new or enhanced processes, tools, applications and training programs that increase the efficiency and effectiveness of Akamai’s global employees.

Responsibilities of the Training & Events Specialist

•Partner with key business leaders to scope and address short and long-term training needs for the sales and presales levels in the organization.

•Design, develop and implement a multi-phased learning and development strategy for sales and presales employees that support the business objectives of the business groups.

•Analyze learning needs, determine project goals, learning objectives, and performance measurements by collaborating with subject matter experts, project managers and sales and presales org leads.

•Administer pilots to evaluate and revise training materials.

•Tracking class/event attendance through the LMS, Upload courses in the LMS inclusive of tracking and reporting of all theater-based training activities

•Arranging training venues (classroom and on-site,) instructors, materials, and equipment

•Event set up inclusive of room bookings, catering, printing, agendas, and all coordination associated with an event

•Maintaining schedule of courses via training calendar and community sites

•Evaluate effectiveness of the curriculum / training delivered via surveys and other methods and report out to RTD accordingly.

•Responsible for administering, organizing and coordinating sales and pre-sales event programs associated with Akamai Technologies’ products and services within the designated Theater

•Lead and manage the overall GFE messaging strategy and content planning for strategic events (Quarterly Field Trainings, Akamai University Live, Quarterly Marketing Training, etc.)

•Lead and manage the content planning for each event to include:

•Identify and secure speakers in partnership with Product, Marketing and Sales organizations.

•Identify and secure internal subject matter experts, executives and technology partners’ speakers with alliance and product marketing colleagues

•Schedule and lead the pre-event review sessions

•Lead steering committee calls to share content plans, evaluate session topics and offering prioritization

•Partner with the event execution lead to ensure achievement of event deadlines, on-budget execution, delivery of assets for pre- and post-event usage by Geo sales and marketing teams

•Create and present executive summary charts of key messages, events and target attendee compliance

•Budget management, setting up POs, tracking and resolution of quarterly and yearly spend inclusive of interfacing with Finance and AP as well as legal for contracts/MSAs and PO reconciliation.

Required Qualifications

•Minimum of 4 years of training and enablement experience in a sales environment at a high technology company

•Minimum of 3 years individual sales training experience and/or employee relations

•Minimum of 1-2 years of Event management knowledge/background

•Successful demonstration of adaptability/flexibility

•Strong communication (verbal and written), presentation, relationship building, and problem solving skills

•Project management skills

•Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to multi task and prioritize in a high volume hiring environment

•Experience conducting needs assessments and analysis

•Ability to interact with all levels of employees

•An enthusiastic person who enjoys a challenging, fast-paced working environment and copes well under pressure
