Insight Global ESL Teacher in Dorchester, Massachusetts

Job Description

Insight Global is looking for an ESL teacher to join a Charter School client in Dorchester, MA. The English as a Second Language (ESL) Teacher is responsible for the teaching English to our English Language Learner (ELL) students. This includes push-in services for multi-lingual students and pull-out support for newcomers; other dudies include assessment, collaboration with team members to plan the language component of the core content taught in science, math, ELA, and Social Studies.

This position requires presence at the client's Centre St. campus and occasional assistance at the Queen St. campus during the winter ACCESS testing season.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 Deliver push-in ESL instruction to 8 - 12 grade students with varying levels of English proficiency;

 Collaborate with core content teachers align instruction with WIDA standards in order to support both the ELL students' English language development and classroom instructional needs;

 Collaborate with the partial inclusion ELD teacher to align weekly goals with core content materials.

 Communicate regularly with parents and staff regarding progress and manage the communication requests of parents;

 Administer and assess the WIDA Screener and ACCESS tests;

 Work with the ESL Director and other members of the school staff to develop and improve ESL programming; and

 Other related responsibilities as needed.

Skills and Requirements

Any prior ESL/EFL experience;

 TESOL Certificate or degree in Education;

 Bachelor's Degree required;

 One or more MTEL passed towards state certification.

Please Note: Teachers without MTELs will have to commit to passing MTEL Com & Lit and MTEL ESL by the end of their first year of employment. Experience working with Young Adults in a high school or middle school setting.
