The Instructional Designer is responsiblefor designing and developing effective and engagingHumanResources (HR) focusedinstructional materials for instructor-led,self-directed, virtual classroom, web-based, and/or blended learning platforms.The Instructional Designer will be tasked with performing needs analysisand curriculum designanddevelopmentwork, e.g. managementcurriculum,consistent with sound instructional design principles withminimal supervision. The Instructional Designer must be highly organized,detail-oriented, and meet aggressive deadlines.
Analyze client source content, target audience demographics,job tasks, and learner environment to identifyperformancegoals andlearning objectives and appropriate instructional strategies.
Analyze input from Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to createand modify instructional materials.
Developassessments andevaluationprocedures to determine ifgoals andobjectives are being met.
Make training recommendations consistent with establisheddevelopment time frames.
Provide clients with support materials to guide rollout oftraining programs,Train-the-Trainer, etc.
Create design documents to specify performance or behavioralobjectives, sequencing of instruction, course content, source materials, andinstructional strategies based on needs analysis and target audience.
Utilize a broad range of interactive, creative and intuitiveinstructional methods, including but not limited to simulations, games, hands-on activities, interactive case studies,role-plays, and assessments.
Design and develop learning materials,Facilitator Guides, Participant Guides, PowerPointpresentations, Quick Reference Guides, Job Aids, and Audio/Video scripts.
2-5 years producing high quality instructional materials in deadline oriented environment.
Strong knowledge of management, leadership, and HR focused curriculum required.
Strong knowledge of banking and financial industry preferred
Between 2 - 5 years
Ability to analyze source content and extract relevant information for instructional purposes.
Ability to effectively communicate with clients and Subject Matter Experts.
Ability to identify problems, risks, and issues; mediate and develop solutions; and implement a course of action.
Ability to seek out and evaluate current and innovative technologies and methodologies for knowledge transfer, skill and competency building and performance enhancement in adults.
Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment,
Appropriate executive presence and the ability to effectively advocate for best practices in performance enhancement for the organization.
Solid proofreading and editing skills.
Highly effective time and project management skills with the ability to organize, prioritize, coordinate, and implement multiple projects.
Knowledge and practical application of ADDIE, Kirkpatrick’s Levels of Evaluation, and Blooms Taxonomy.
Strong knowledge of training design, development and delivery.
