Outreach Assistant (College level Co-Op Student)
The Communications and Community Outreach Office, (CCOO) is looking for an assistant to the Laboratory’s K-16 STEM coordinator to help with the STEM programs run by the CCOO.This individual will assist the STEM Coordinator with logistics, paper work, interfacing with student groups, and serving as a liaison between students, teachers, and Lincoln Laboratory staff.
This position requires the individual to also supervise the activities of students in some of our programs outside of the Laboratory. Specifically, the individual will work with students at MIT Campus and other off-site locations in the local area.
Specifically, the individual will need to have experience in the following areas regarding studies in school and activities outside of the classroom.
Currently enrolled in college degree program and work experience related to Education and STEM required.
Experience with science, physics, computer science, or mathematics STEM education preferred.
Experience participating in STEM programs at all levels of K-12 preferred.
Understanding of how these disciplines are applied to teaching STEM workshops strongly preferred .
Experience assisting with STEM programs and executing STEM education for K-12 preferred.
Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance required.
The ability to drive to these locations and chaperone activities, sometimes on weekends or evenings, will be required.
