S.E. Mass Educational Collaborative Special Education Teacher in South Dartmouth, Massachusetts
Job dascription: SMEC is seeking a strong and diverse pool of applicants for the position of Special Education Teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. Positions in preschool, elementary and secondary level available in the following areas: ? ASD ? Social/Emotional/Behavioral ? Severe Special Needs/Multi-Disability Training in ABA or other positive behavioral support methodologies strongly preferred. The Teacher manages the classroom on a day-to-day basis by planning and providing instruction based on the MA Curriculum Frameworks, demonstrating effective classroom management, developing and implementing measurable Individual Education Plan (IEP) goals, providing assessment and curriculum design as well as supervision of students, classroom staff and ongoing parent contact. This is a School Year Position (184 days) plus a 5 week part-time summer program. Valid licensure as a special education teacher (with Moderate or Severe designation) or waiver eligible from the MA Department of Education required. Benefits Eligible (Health, Dental, Life Insurances, 457b/403b). This position qualifies for the Massachusetts Teachers? Retirement System (MTRS). Local travel between programs is required to support students at different school buildings.
