There is an open job for a highly qualified teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH) in a school district a short distance away from Springfield, MA. The minimum qualifications for this position include a college degree in Deaf Education. Preferred qualification are an advanced Special Education or Deaf Education degree. Massachusetts licensure is preferred before applying, but not required if the applicant currently licensed in another state to teach the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. The most qualified DHH candidate will have at least 1 year of classroom teaching experience, know their way around the IEP process, and have, at minimum, basic knowledge of ASL. This caseload may involve instruction in a self-contained classroom, as well as inclusion co-teaching. Elementary and middle school experience is preferred.
