Position Title Assistant/Associate Teaching Professor Department HUMANITIES & ARTS Basic Function Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) is seeking a full-time non-tenure track faculty to support WPI?s Theatre program. This faculty appointment includes teaching theatre courses, including American Drama and Theatre Workshop, a course that offers students the opportunity to explore theatre through creative involvement with playwriting, design, performance, production, and criticism. In addition to teaching, this position will support WPI?s primary academic theatre performance space, the Little Theatre. Responsibilities include supervising the technology in that space, and advising on each production?s technology, including but not limited to lighting, sound, audio, live feed, and special effects. This position is also responsible for advising Practicums in theatre technology for the Department of Humanities and Arts. This faculty position starts in August 2017 and is a 9-month appointment, although there is the possibility of an additional summer appointment based on the discretion of the hiring department. Position Requirements An ideal applicant will hold a terminal degree in theatre or a related discipline with significant practical experience in the relevant area, as well as having successful undergraduate or graduate teaching experience.
