Postdoctoral position in applied developmental immunology
We seek a talented and motivated postdoc to join our team in Program in Molecular Medicine and Diabetes Center Of Excellence at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. The dynamic and collaborative Maehr lab is embedded in a vibrant and cutting edge research environment. We apply pluripotent stem cell, developmental, immunological, and genomic approaches to further our understanding of human immune syndromes such as autoimmunity and immuno-deficiencies.
We are interested in expanding our team to further our efforts on directing human pluripotent stem cells to functional thymic cells. Projects will include discovery-based research on signals and pathways guiding human stem cell-derived thymic epithelial cell maturation, investigation of human thymic organoids, and functional genomics assessment of immunological tolerance.
Applicants should have a PhD in biomedical sciences with a strong background in stem cell biology, bioengineering, and/or functional genomics. Hands-on experience with human pluripotent stem cells as well as excellent knowledge of CRISPR-based technologies is desired. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced research environment, ability to multitask, and detail oriented data analysis are required. Strong writing, verbal and interpersonal skills are necessary.

PhD degree in biomedical sciences
track record in pluripotent stem cell biology, functional genomics or bioengineering with at least two first author publications
hands-on experience with cell culture
excellent knowledge of molecular biology and immunology
fluently speak and write English
hands-on experience with CRISPR-based technologies
experienced in next generation sequencing
experienced in developmental biology
