WHAT YOU'LL DO
As a key member of our Learning & Development team, the Learning & Development Program Coordinator reports directly to the Director of Learning & Development and plays a pivotal role in shaping our organization's growth and staff experience. Your mission? To help lead the charge in crafting, executing, and assessing impactful staff training and professional development programs. Through passion, expertise, and attention to detail, the Learning & Development team is the driving force behind cultivating a thriving culture of learning, continuous advancement, and inclusivity across our organization. The Learning & Development Program Coordinator will help inspire positive change and foster a future-focused learning environment.
SCOPE OF WORK
Implement and execute a calendar of 6-12 targeted professional development training opportunities for staff at all levels of the organization.
Support the Director of Learning & Development in collaborating with departmental and divisional leaders to develop professional development opportunities needed for their teams.
ACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENTS
Under the direction of the Director of Learning & Development, the L&D Program Coordinator will:
Implement professional development opportunities for Museum of Science staff through thoughtful and tailored programming to ensure the L&D experience is equitable and engaging.
Facilitate training and professional development opportunities for Museum of Science staff at all levels of the organization through a programmed approach that supports Museum strategy, initiatives, and staff needs.
Identify unique and new training programs by working collaboratively with staff and organizational leaders to fulfill employee-specific needs to maintain or improve job skills.
Continuously develop and maintain knowledge of diversity, equity, inclusion, accessibility, and belonging (DEAIB) in the workplace to ensure our organizational values and competencies are embedded in training and development opportunities by maintaining knowledge of the latest best practices in training and development.
Collaborate with the HRIS Administrator to ensure that all training is maintained and available in the Museum's Learning Management System to ensure attendance is recorded, the staff is notified of required and optional training opportunities, and managers are notified when their team has completed training requirements.
Evaluate training program effectiveness through surveys, focus groups, and participant/facilitator feedback to ensure professional development opportunities provide value, are adaptable to the organization, and reflect our team's needs.
Partner with external consultants to provide staff professional development opportunities ensuring that consultants are well grounded in Museum culture.
Manage the organizational L&D program calendar through our LMS system to provide all staff with updated communication and L&D opportunities.
Perform other work-related duties as required by the Manager.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field
Experience: 1 or more years of training/facilitation experience.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Demonstrated attention to detail.
Demonstrated strong facilitation skills and knowledge of training programs and delivery methods that engage, motivate, and excite staff.
Demonstrated experience working with groups of all sizes and at all levels of the organization.
Demonstrated understanding of instructional design methods.
Ability to design and develop training materials and supporting collateral as necessary.
Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with colleagues verbally and through written communication.
An inclusive and growth-oriented mindset, strong interpersonal skills, and an ability to work across differences, building and sustaining positive relationships.
Demonstrated dedication to internal branding through a proven track record of aligning with and upholding an organization's core values, vision, and mission.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
PREFERED SKILLS
Advanced skill in Microsoft PowerPoint
Project management experience
Experience with a Learning Management System (LMS)
Experience with e-learning creation software (i.e., Articulate360)
REMOTE WORK
1 Day remote, four days in the office (Hybrid)
Regular schedule M-F with occasional events in the evening and weekends
