Job Description

The Management Department of the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts - Amherst invites applications for a tenure-track position in Organizational Behavior (OB) and/or Human Resource Management (HRM). The rank is at the level of Assistant Professor, with a start date set for September 2024.

Requirements

Candidates applying for this position should expect to have completed their doctoral degree in OB and/or HRM (or a closely related field) by August of 2024. Ideal candidates for this position will have an active program of research with expectations to publish in high quality scholarly journals such asAcademy of Management Journal,Academy of Management Review,Administrative Science Quarterly,Organization Science, andStrategic Management Journalas well as specialty OB/HRM journals such asJournal of Applied Psychology,Personnel Psychology,andOrganizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes. Candidates must have expertise or evident potential in providing quality teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Initial teaching responsibilities will be focused on developing and delivering innovative instruction in organizational behavior and/or human resource management at the undergraduate level. Potential or demonstrated ability to teach in both face-to-face and distance education formats to graduate students with considerable work experience is highly desirable.

In addition, the department offers a long-standing and high-quality Ph.D. program with separate tracks in Organization Studies and Strategic Management.
