Job Description
TheDepartment of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology (https://www.umass.eduhttps://www.umass.edu/biochemistry-molecular-biology//biochemistry-molecular-biology/) (BMB) at the University of Massachusetts Amherst invites applications for an Assistant Professor position in quantitative and structural biology. We are seeking candidates exploring any aspect of molecular or biochemical processes using quantitative, computational, and/or structural approaches, broadly defined. Successful candidates will actively contribute to our departmental research strengths in plant biology, neuroscience, protein homeostasis, and host-microbe interactions.
This is a full-time (9-month academic year) tenure-track position. New faculty members will be able to take full advantage of the substantial investments in campus infrastructure and core facilities (http://www.umass.edu/ials/core-facilities), including high-performance computing clusters and cryo-electron microscopy. The successful candidate will have a Ph.D., postdoctoral experience, and outstanding potential to build a vibrant, active research program and to teach at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Requirements
Candidates must have a Ph.D. or equivalent in Biology or a related field with relevant post-doctoral experience.We are seeking talented applicants qualified for an assistant professor position. Under exceptional circumstances, highly qualified candidates at other ranks may receive consideration.
Additional Information
This is a full-time, academic-year appointment expected to begin September 1, 2025.
