Job Description

The Physics Department of the University of Massachusetts Amherst invites applications for a tenure-track, academic year, faculty position in experimental quantum information and quantum materials. We seek candidates with outstanding research and a strong commitment to teaching and mentoring.

The new faculty member will join an active experimental and theoretical group and will complement existing strengths in superconducting circuits, quantum simulation, non-equilibrium quantum dynamics, quantum error correction, low-dimensional materials, topological phases, and precision many-body physics. The new member will also join a campus-wide initiative in quantum information systems and materials. Requirements

Candidates must have a Ph.D. degree or equivalent in Physics or a related field, with relevant post-doctoral experience.

Expected start date of this position is September 1, 2025.
