Assist with management and implementation of programming at the Agricultural Learning Center.
Examples of duties:
Assist with vegetable production systems in support of the U-Mass Student Farming Enterprise including crop, planting, and maintenance and harvesting.
Operate a motor vehicle to deliver fresh produce and meat from farm to various market locations both on and off campus.
Operate farm equipment in support of all programming at the Agricultural Learning Center.
Provide support for other activities associated with all programming at the Agricultural Learning Center as needed.
Assist with the management of all Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) approved projects at the Agricultural Learning Center.
Assist with the compilation of financial records for revenue generated from the sale of vegetables and meat on the farm.
Assist with the composition of final revenue reports from the sale of vegetables, fruits and meat products produced at the Agricultural Learning Center.
Develop website content and social media pages.
Work collaboratively and effectively to promote teamwork, diversity, equality and inclusiveness.
Work in partnership with colleagues within the CNS community and across the campus to support the Dean’s strategic priorities.
Perform other duties as assigned in support of the mission and goals of the College of Natural Sciences.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure)
Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently and cooperatively.
Basic familiarity with agriculture in Massachusetts.
Willingness to work outdoors during the summer months.
Familiarity with basic computer skills for word processing and use of spreadsheet software and internet.
Ability to follow instructions.
Valid Drivers License.
Preferred Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure)
Coursework in Sustainable Food and Farming Program, familiarity with vegetable or other agricultural systems; experience working in the outdoors.

Working outdoors in all conditions of weather
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Monday – Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm
