About UMass Amherst - Mount Ida Campus
UMass Amherst, the Commonwealth's flagship campus, is a nationally ranked public research university offering a full range of undergraduate, graduate and professional degrees. The Mount Ida Campus of UMass Amherst is located in Newton, MA adjacent to the Newton-Needham Innovation District, and the tech-focused Route 128 corridor. At Mount Ida, UMass Amherst offers an array of experiential learning opportunities to its undergraduate students, as well as a growing number of graduate and professional degree programs. The campus is growing its undergraduate career development programs with expanded access to internships and co-ops in the thriving Greater Boston area.
Digital Ready Residential Educators live within the learning community providing education and support to the students, who, in addition to their academic program, are also learning how to live, socialize and access resources on a college campus. In addition, educators provide residential on-duty rounds, crisis response and policy enforcement.
The ideal candidate for the role will be a recent college graduate with experience as a residential advisor and a passion for learning and working with youth. This is not meant to be a permanent position but rather an opportunity for recent graduates to gain experience in a program of this type. Each year new Digital Ready Educators are chosen to hold this position based on their alignment with their career goals and undergraduate experience and a relationship and/or commitment to the Digital Ready program goals and principles. Though this is a STEM based program, candidates from the School of Education as well as others will be considered.
