TheSchool of Public Health and Health Sciences (https://www.umass.edu/sphhs) has six vibrant departments, including three with a focus on Public Health Sciences:Biostatistics & Epidemiology (https://www.umass.edu/sphhs/bio-epi) ,Health Promotion & Policy (https://www.umass.edu/sphhs/hpp) , andEnvironmental Health Sciences (https://www.umass.edu/sphhs/environmental-health-sciences) . Faculty in these three departments collectively teach in the undergraduate Public Health Sciences (BS) program, and support MPH, MS, and PhD programs in five subdisciplines.
Job Description
The School of Public Health and Health Sciences is looking for a full-time Lecturer in the Department of Environmental Health Sciences. The teaching load for this position includes courses in both the graduate program and the BS in Public Health Sciences. The initial appointment for this benefited academic-year position is 2 years with potential for reappointment based on performance and funding.
The candidate will join as a non-tenure track member of the faculty. Additional position responsibilities will include membership on department committees and school-wide service. Summer teaching may be available and would be additionally compensated in accordance with policy.
Requirements
Ph.D. Degree in Environmental Health Sciences or related field or equivalent degree.
Evidence of college level or university level teaching experience.
Record of success in modern pedagogical approaches (e.g. flipped classroom, experiential learning, team-based learning).
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Potential for fostering equity and inclusion.
