Carry out research in theoretical nuclear physics as related to tests of fundamental symmetries. The successful applicant will collaborate with Prof. Ramsey-Musolf and other members of the Amherst Center for Fundamental Interactions.
Examples of duties:
Carry out research in theoretical nuclear physics on topics related to tests of fundamental symmetries and neutrino properties.
Collaborate and interact with other members of the Amherst Center for Fundamental Interactions.
Prepare and submit research publications.
Participate in weekly group meetings and ACFI seminars.
Work collaboratively and effectively to promote teamwork, diversity, equality and inclusiveness.
Work in partnership with colleagues within the CNS community and across the campus to support the Dean’s strategic priorities.
Perform other duties as assigned in support of the mission and goals of the College of Natural Sciences.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure)
- Ph.D. in theoretical physics or related field.
Preferred Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure)
- Expertise in fundamental symmetries and neutrinos and a working knowledge of elementary particle physics.
Physical Demands/Working Conditions
Typical office environment.
Monday – Friday 8:30am – 5:00pm, 40 hours a week, 100% FTE.
Salary will be commensurate with experience.
