The Evaluation Systems group of Pearson VUE offers dynamic teacher licensing and performance assessment solutions. Our custom teacher licensure testing programs are 100 percent aligned to state standards. We also provide a wide variety of teacher licensure testing services such as test development, administration, and scoring.

The Senior Educational Consultant will be a member of the Evaluation Systems project team responsible for providing support and guidance to state education agencies (SEA) and educator preparation programs (EPP’s) for statewide educator certification assessment program implementation. Working collaboratively with the SEA and project partners, the Senior Educational Consultant will develop presentations and training materials, and deliver in-person and virtual workshops to support the implementation of educator assessments.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with educator preparation programs and state agencies including state departments of education, state policy boards, and other constituencies.

  • Develops training materials and delivers presentations to appropriate educational groups.

  • Develops and presents in-person and virtual workshops and training sessions on the implementation of the program to clients across all constituent groups.

  • Supports EPP’s to better understand assessment program components, and resources and how each relate to curricula and existing program assessments.

  • Works with educators to understand assessment program outcomes and data to inform educator preparation program curricula.

  • Maintains contact with SEA and provides guidance to the client on key elements of the program and needs of EPP’s.

  • Provides quality control for products, processes, and project activities of state specific program implementation.

  • Oversees the development of work plans to complete anticipated work, fitting in unanticipated tasks, as necessary.

  • Monitors and communicates with external and internal stakeholders regarding federal and state policy trends related to educator preparation and certification.

  • Travels on behalf of the company performing program site visits and attending national conferences.

Qualifications

  • Graduate degree in education or a related field; Ph.D. preferred

  • Prior experience in education, assessment, or higher education preferred.

  • Demonstrable experience with and knowledge of current educational issues.

  • Demonstrates proven success with management/supervisory experience in an educational setting.

  • Demonstrates knowledge of testing and measurement.

  • Demonstrates a thorough ability and proven record of success with public presentation skills.

  • Excellent writing skills; technical writing experience preferred.

  • Ability to travel up to 75%
