Job Description

The Department of Sociology at the University of Massachusetts Amherst ( ) is seeking non-tenure track, part-time faculty to teach a variety of on-campus, in-person courses in Sociology. The Department is seeking candidates with experience in teaching Sociology and related courses. Candidates with specialties in race and law are especially encouraged to apply.

Potential courses for the Spring 2022 semester may include: Criminology, Race and Society, Social Networks Analysis, Sociology of Law

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure)

Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Sociology or related field, or a master’s with commensurate professional experience. Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as an ability to work with diverse populations and experience mentoring/advising undergraduates.  Visit our website at  ( ) for more information about the department.
