Summary

The Senior Strategy & Insights Director will contribute to the evolution of Freeman’s Strategy and Insights division through leading client growth and profitability initiatives and formulating the insight narrative to support organizational strategy and transformation roadmaps. This is primarily a consulting and advisory services role which will lead client consulting engagements for event industry executives and clients to meaningfully contribute to client growth and profitability objectives. Candidates will be responsible for understanding shifts in client industries and market conditions, and be able to derive insights from data and research– such as business performance data and event metrics, as well as event assessments, surveys, and focus groups – to guide clients in making decisions which support growth or improve performance for their events.

This role will also be responsible for supporting the development of Freeman’s proprietary strategy and insights products for corporate and member-driven organizations and event organizers. Within this role, you will collaborate across the Strategy and Insights team to identify opportunities for new strategic products and services that will drive business value for our clients and generate growth for Freeman.

This role provides an opportunity to work across a diverse team of business strategists, analysts and researchers who are collectively designing new and compelling methodologies to serve our clients and their changing needs. You’ll work on meaningful and innovative projects that radically change the way our clients view what is possible.

This position will support our Growth team. It is eligible to work a hybrid schedule, generally requiring work in-office and/or show site 2-3 days per week. The ideal candidate will be based out of any of the following locations:

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Able to independently lead multiple consulting engagements, managing all key internal and external stakeholders

  • Have strategic agility and ability to influence higher management

  • A strong business storyteller and writer who can convey complex ideas clearly, concisely and visually for professional audiences

  • A data synthesizer who can process large amounts of discovery information and succinctly surface key insights

  • Design and develop the strategy-led story in client engagements, applying strategic thinking to solve business and marketing problems

  • Lead and/or support workshop facilitation and focus groups to guide clients to align on growth strategies and annual plans

  • Conduct event assessments using Freeman’s proprietary research and frameworks and lead clients through recommendations for new approaches to improve audience engagement, experience, and exhibitor/sponsor return on investment

Attributes that will help you be successful in this role:

  • Desire to stay apprised of event industry shifts, challenges and best practices

  • Experience understanding market research, ability to analyze data and market insights to design, develop, and deploy relevant strategies to support customer goals

  • Understand client persona development and buyer journey mapping process, specifically leading primary and secondary research elements

  • Strong business acumen and understanding of go to market strategy

  • Superior relationship skills and service-oriented

  • An innovative problem solver, able to challenge conventional approaches

  • Ability to assist in securing new revenue opportunities by coordinating across strategic services teams to design the right solutions for clients and prospects

  • Strong analytics and data analysis skills and comfort working with data and analytics tools

  • Works effectively in a remote environment

Education & Experience

  • Experience with management consulting firm is preferred, but not required

  • 10+ years of professional experience, ideally in a consulting role

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, High School Diploma or Equivalent with relevant work experience required

  • Expert experience with Excel and PowerPoint

  • Experience in the events industry is preferred, but not required

  • Salary range of $155,000-$166,500 based upon experience

  • Eligible for an annual bonus of up to 15% of the base salary
