Seven Hills Foundation Residential Director in Barre, Massachusetts
Coordinates and directs the treatment teams and the overnight team. Ensures integrated services, effective support, and communication systems. Integrates the Assistant Residential Directors to ensure singularity of purpose, mission, goal, and focus. Functions as an integral member of the administrative team.
Provides formal supervision to Child Care Specialists and Senior Child Care Specialists in accordance with Stetson School procedure and submits weekly tracking of this performance to the Assistant Residential Director.
Oversees orientation of new direct care staff, including review of job description and completion of a 180-day evaluation.
Provides staff performance appraisals for assigned Child Care Specialists and Senior Child Care Specialists as scheduled, in consultation with the Assistant Residential Director.
Assesses development needs of unit staff and provides training when necessary.
Constructs and provides development and / or corrective action plans for individual supervisees as necessary, and ensures the necessary teaching and tracking.
Encourages educational and professional development of direct care staff.
Actively seeks to enhance professional knowledge and skills, given the reasonable opportunity to do so.
Initiates progressive discipline of staff in accordance with Stetson School procedure, and under the direction of the Asistant Residential Directors.
Maintains team’s assigned master schedule and reports to Unit Director on the effectiveness of daily staff configuration.
Assists Residential Scheduler, as needed, with shift vacancies to provide mandatory ratio.
Monitors direct care staff attendance for call out patterns and other attendance problems.
Tracks use of overtime / extra time for maximum safety and efficiency.
Interviews direct care candidates and makes hiring recommendations to Unit Director.
Ensures appropriate personnel paperwork for the interview is complete and forwarded to the Senior Human Resources Generalist.
Ensures a functional unit recreation and group schedule and delegates responsibilities for daily program activities to direct care staff.
Oversees skills groups and other residential programming for students in coordination with the Assistant Residential Director and in accordance with relevant program design.
Assigns Child Care Specialist and Senior Child Care Specialist staff as student advocates.
Master’s degree or equivalent in human service management, clinical, social work, counseling, or related fields, and four to ten years related experiences and/or training in sex offender treatment and/or residential management; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of collaborative, team oriented management styles, interdisciplinary teams, treatment planning, employment laws, regulations, policies and ethical concerns relating to confidentiality, reporting risk management, youth participation and confrontation, juvenile court systems, social systems, legal parameters, therapeutic/legal interface, and various theories of sexual deviance.
Requires a current valid driver’s license from state of residence.
Ability to travel 25% of the time, occasional overnights, and out of state travel.
Ability to occasionally work nights, overnights, and weekends.
Ability to carry and respond to a pager on off-duty hours for on-call purposes.
