Endicott College Director of RN to BSN & Accelerated BSN Programs in Beverly, Massachusetts

This position falls under both the School of Nursing and the Van Loan School of Professional Studies. Responsible to the Dean of Nursing for recruitment, enrollment, advisement, curriculum design, accreditation compliance, and general program oversight of the R.N. to B.S Program and Accelerated BSN (ABSN) programs. This requires collaborative engagement with the undergraduate program faculty and staff on curriculum, accreditation, and MA BORN regulations. Works with the Dean of Professional Studies in the Van Loan School to schedule liberal arts/general education components and overall graduation requirements. Will develop the ABSN program during year one of appointment for a projected start date of the first ABSN cohort of September 2021. Provides oversight of Accelerated BSN Degree offerings, clinical experiences and site activities. Responsible for the supervision and overseeing of program staff. Develop and coordinate activities of the programs in an effort to enhance the student advisement experience. Counsel and advise students, act as a liaison to other College departments regarding advisement and admissions. Develop and maintain relationships with academic departments to facilitate the inter-program transfer process for students.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the admission and advisement activities and processes for the program. Advise students from admissions through graduation.

  • Maintain confidential student files and records documenting all pertinent academic information within the College, upholding FERPA regulations.

  • Accurately advise students on classes, academic requirements and policies

  • Oversee the RN to BSN and ABSN admissions process and assist the admissions and marketing office in recruitment activities.

  • Respond to student concerns/problems and referring students to appropriate resources, including counseling services.

  • Coordinate articulation agreements and student clinical placement.

  • Standing member of the undergraduate Curriculum Committee, reporting to Associate Dean of

The Undergraduate Program on all curriculum related issues and work on the committee to create and maintain the rigor of the curriculum to achieve the SLO's.

  • Oversee the maintenance of all data and workflow for the programs.

  • Ensure the maintenance of student databases and systems .

  • Collaborate with career services and Student Affairs to address student needs.

  • Oversee the assignment of faculty, courses, and classrooms for the programs.

  • Guide, direct and support the day-to-day activities of administrative and advisement support personnel.

  • Represent the program at Curriculum Committee and Faculty meetings and serve on other committees as needed.

  • Serve as a resource for exploratory/undecided students.

  • Teach up to four (4) courses in a calendar year.

  • Responsible for recruitment of students to the program including participating in generating inquiries, responding to inquiries, advising prospective students on registration procedures, reviewing admissions files, and general support and encouragement of prospective students to enroll and complete their degree requirements. Maintain a data base on leads and inquiries. Attend open houses, career fairs and other opportunities to market the program.

  • Review completed applications for admissions based on criteria.

  • Assist the Dean of Nursing in producing schedules of courses for students on campus and at off­ site locations. Collaborate with practice partners regarding delivery of off-site R.N. to B.S. courses.

  • Recommend to the Registrar degree completion of students.

  • Assist the APL faculty in the review and evaluation of nursing sections of APL portfolios.

  • Supervision and Comprehensive Evaluation of faculty teaching in the program s.

  • Oversight of all courses, syllabi and Canvas pages in the programs for adherence to program student learning outcomes and accreditation guidelines.

  • Participate in School of Nursing activities as requested by the Dean including assisting with accreditation activities, attending weekly School of Nursing meetings, and monthly School of Nursing faculty meetings.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Thorough knowledge of College academic policies and procedure s, general studies requirements and major requirements of all disciplines.

  • iStrong working knowledge of computers (including MS Office and Google Suite). Knowledge of Canvas helpful.

  • Knowledge of program requirements

Abilities and Skills:

  • Effectively prioritize and organize multiple tasks to meet established deadlines. Analytical and very detail-oriented. Work well with diverse population.

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and oral/written communication skills.

  • Ability to lead and supervise full-time staff and student employees

  • Supervisory experience highly preferred.

  • Experience with transcript analysis highly desired.

Experience:

  • Requires a minimum of five (5) years of academic leadership experience

  • Requires two (2) years of teaching experience in a pre- or post-licensure registered nursing program or equivalent.

  • Experience with CCNE accreditation and MA BORN approval.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Registered Nurse with current MA nursing license that is unrestricted

  • Master's degree in Nursing, Doctoral degree preferred

  • Teaching experience preferred

  • Strong administrative and organizational skills

  • Must be willing and able to work evenings and occasional weekends as required.
