Vice-Chair of Clinical Research in the Department of Anesthesia, Critical Care & Pain Medicine
The Department of Anesthesia, Critical Care and Pain Medicine seeks applicants for the position of Vice-Chair of Clinical Research. The ideal candidate is a nationally respected clinician and researcher with the skills necessary to develop a collaborative research program that meaningfully engages faculty, trainees, other departments, the hospital and industry. Working closely with the department chair, s/he will develop a vision and strategic plan for clinical and translational research to better position the Department for international prominence. The Vice Chair will also be a member of the senior clinical team providing direct anesthesia care, supervision and teaching for a wide variety of cases. Our Department continues to grow and now encompasses 8 hospitals delivering approximately 130,000 anesthetics per year as well as playing leading roles in critical care and pain medicine.
The position is based at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, a world-class teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School, located in the heart of Boston. We have 673 licensed beds, including 77 critical care beds. BIDMC cares for more than 5000 births a year and provides a full range of emergency services, including a Level 1 Trauma Center.
Academic appointment at Harvard Medical School will be commensurate with experience, training and achievements in addition to teaching activities.
