Responsibilities:

The adjunct faculty works one to four hours per week (or as needed) helping students to develop scholarly writing skills by examining patterns in student writing, offering instruction on these patterns, and making suggestions as to how to strengthen key areas to produce more effective writing.

Guide students in the use of a rubric to structure and outline their paper to meet all requirements of an assignment Provide feedback to help students revise individual assignments, with the larger goal of becoming a stronger writer and proofreader of their own work Constructive feedback may include cohesion and flow, voice and grammar, and APA style Collaborate with the library liaison to help instruct students in searching the databases

Qualifications:

Required: Master?s degree in a relevant field Higher education experience working with a diverse student body Knowledge of APA format Knowledge of writing from evidence and synthesizing evidence

Desired: Knowledge of search engines and scientific databases specific to health related disciplines Experience with undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral level scholarly writing
