The Graduate Programs Administrator supports the Graduate Affairs Manager and the Director of Graduate Studies (DGS) in all activities related to the Pardee School of Global Studies graduate programs. Duties as assigned by the Graduate Affairs Manager but generally include advising graduate students and administration of admissions and graduate program activities.
Advisor to graduate students in all Pardee School graduate programs. Meets regularly with students for class registration and degree progress. Schedules MA paper submission, defenses, and foreign language proficiency exams. Processes intent-to-graduate and other required forms. Act as source of information about requirements of all graduate programs and other administrative information relevant for graduate students. Assists Graduate Affairs Manager in implementing on-going academic advising programs to improve retention and on time graduation rates.
Assists Graduate Affairs Manager and DGS in processing graduate applications. Develops and maintains tracking reports generated from WebAdmit for weekly summary reports. Coordinates annual WebAdmit update to ensure online admission application is operational for each admission cycle. Provides general assistance to the Graduate Affairs manager and DGS in all other activities related to admissions.
Works under supervision of Graduate Affairs Manager in program administration of the Graduate Office. This may include: developing new materials to assist in advising including semester class schedules for all graduate programs; updating calendar of events and school deadlines for all graduate student activities; overseeing the general graduate email account; assisting Graduate Affairs Manager with student payroll set up for student employees and research assistants; working with the Graduate Affairs Manager and DGS on graduate project initiatives, for example: Washington D.C. graduate trip, MA Orientation and the annual team building exercise, the Dean’s Ambassador’s program, graduate career advice, graduate student events, etc.
Bachelor's Degree required, master's degree preferred. Three to five years of experience.
