Boston University ADMISSIONS OPERATIONS MANAGER, School of Social Work, Administration in BOSTON, Massachusetts

The Admissions Operations Manager serves as the client lead for the School of Social Work's application software vendor (Liaison WebAdmit) and as the primary manager of the relationships between the Admissions Office and appropriate SSW departments and between the Admissions Office and BU Information Technology, BU Institutional Research, and the department of Graduate Enrollment in the Office of the Provost. This position plans, organizes, implements, and evaluates the collection of data related to admissions in support of recruitment and conversion efforts (transition of inquiry to accepted applicants) and prepares a variety of statistical reports on an ongoing basis for the analysis of recruitment efforts and applicant demographics. In these regards, in particular, the Admissions Operations Manager works closely with the Manager of Recruitment.

This position also creates and maintains content for the School's electronic applications; troubleshoots related questions from applicants about their applications; organizes and prepares the application review process and admissions decisions notifications; and, with the Graduate Admissions Specialist, processes International applicants (coordinating with ISSO). In addition, as needed and appropriate, the Admissions Operations Manager participates in selected student recruitment activities. The Admissions Operations Manager may review applications, as needed. This position supervises one direct report, the Graduate Admissions Specialist.

Occasional travel and some evening, overnight, and weekend work may be required.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree Required.

  • Successful candidates will demonstrate excellent analytical and customer service skills.

  • 3-5 years of admissions or related experience.

  • Nonprofit/social work program and/or higher education experience preferred; social work/social justice experience helpful.
