The Sociology Department at Suffolk University invites applications for a tenure-track, assistant professor position beginning July 1, 2019 (pending final budgetary approval).The position is in sociology with expertise in criminology/criminal justice. Applicants must have relevant research experience in this area. Areas of specialization are open, but preference will be given to candidates who can contribute to the graduate program concentrations in Victim Advocacy and/or Youth, Crime, and Justice. Successful candidates will be expected to teach courses in criminology/criminal justice at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Candidates should provide evidence of commitment to teaching excellence and scholarly potential, including working with ethnic, race, and gender diverse populations. The department is committed to an atmosphere of inclusion. Service to the department and the University through committee membership and student advising is also required.
