Boston University Assistant Professor of Theatre, Acting/Directing, College of Fine Arts, Boston University in BOSTON, Massachusetts
The School of Theatre at Boston University’s College of Fine Arts invites applications for two full-time faculty members in the area of acting and/or directing at the rank of Assistant Professor (non-tenure track). The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate an emerging national profile with a record of professional artistic production. Applicants should possess a strong background in acting and/or directing skills, a knowledge of a range of acting and/or directing techniques to fulfill the breadth of performance material, a willingness to work in a collaborative spirit among a team of faculty with varied approaches, and a proven ability to teach advanced acting courses to undergraduate (BFA) students. Desired (but not required) areas of expertise include Asian American theatre, African American theatre, Latinx Theatre, theatre & emerging technologies, and/or Voice Techniques.
The ideal candidate will teach at both the graduate (MFA Directing) and undergraduate levels, fostering critical study, creative practice, and provocation in the classroom and beyond. Applicants must hold a terminal degree (MFA or PhD) and/or have a significant record of professional accomplishments in the field. We are looking for candidates with strong skills in collaboration and communication, as well as professional networks to help bridge classroom experiences and the profession. Prior teaching experience is desirable.

Minimum Requirements:
• Terminal degree or an equivalent record of professional accomplishments in the field (MFA or PhD).
• A record of professional accomplishments that merit a professorial rank appointment at the Boston University.
• Evidence of supporting, teaching, and/or mentoring emerging artists in the classroom and the field.
• A commitment to shared governance.
