Job Description: Responsible for leading a team that develops and sustains an institutional culture of evidence-based decision making and improvement that aligns strategic planning, budgeting, assessment, and analytics with institutional goals and state and federal strategic education initiatives such as the Massachusetts Department of Higher Education's Equity Agenda. The Assistant Vice President leads MassArt in the collection, analysis, and interpretation of data. This position communicates findings, both internally and externally, to drive institutional decision-making and effectiveness. The Assistant Vice President is charged with developing and overseeing an institutional data and analytics infrastructure, college dashboards, reporting, and benchmarking. The Assistant Vice President coordinates internal and external requests for institutional data, including federal, state, and all other accrediting and reporting agencies. The Assistant Vice President collaborates with the Office of Academic Affairs and other administrative offices to ensure that institutional effectiveness is evaluated for all administrative and academic areas and works with College leadership to create a culture of continuous improvement for learning outcomes, assessment, and program evaluation. SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Provost and VP for Academic Affairs SUPERVISION EXERCISED: One professional staff member To be considered for the position, you must apply directly to the MassArt Employment Opportunities Page: https://massart.interviewexchange.com/static/clients/576MAM1/index.jsp SALARY RANGE: $110,000 - $120,000 Commensurate with experience Position is governed by the Non-Unit Professional Policies Handbook ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES: * Leads the development, implementation, and monitoring of a system of integrated planning, assessment, and evaluation across the institution to include research and analysis, environmental scanning, peer comparisons, benchmarking, trend analysis, key performance indicators, and reporting progress on initiatives. * Develops statistical models and/or customized analyses to support enrollment and retention goals for the College. * Collaborates with Information Technology, Finance, Student Development and other College offices to develop and implement an integrated plan to ensure integrity of data from all sources, both internal and external. * Provides expertise in systems of data management and analysis. * Coordinates reporting efforts to eliminate redundancy and increase effectiveness. * Provides guidance and support to the President, Provost, and senior leadership in planning, policy, strategic initiatives, and institutional improvement. * Provides research and data to inform institutional decision making and actions. * Prepares data and communications for review, submission, and/or information sharing with a range of stakeholders including the Department of Higher Education, Board of Trustees, accrediting entities, and government agencies. * Consults and supports planning, goal setting, and assessment work with an equity lens across academic departments, student support services, and administrative areas. * Interprets and uses data and research findings to stimulate organizational learning. * Communicates effectively to internal and external constituents of the College. * Compiles and internally publishes longitudinal and comparative data about the College. * Coordinates the submission of data to government and accrediting agencies and to external consortia and serves as the College's primary accreditation liaison. * Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements: REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Bachelor's degree with seven or more years' experience at a senior level in business intelligence/data analysis, institutional strategic planning, data-driven decision-making, quality improvement, institutional research, or related fields in higher education or not-for-profit organizations Experience: Professional and/or theoretical experience in experimental design, building sophisticated statistical models via multivariate and/or path analysis, regression, segmentation, decision trees, and/or time series. Superior proficiency demonstrated in computer applications, including spreadsheet, word-processing, and database software; functional knowledge of computer statistical applications for data acquisition and analysis (e.g., SPSS, SAS, Qualtrics). ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS: * Master's or Doctoral Degree * Proficiency in SPSS, Rapid Insight (Preferably PostGRE SQL, Envisions Argos, Tableau) * Prior experience with Higher Education ERP/SIS preferably Ellucian Colleague * Familiarity with Datatel/Colleague or other enterprise systems * Higher education experience * Multilingual is a plus * Specialized training and experience to be able to assess and interpret complex data that impact * financial funding, grants, and high level decisions. * Executes decisions based on the identification of appropriate assessment methods and process * surveys, and direct the analysis of assessment data documentation of processes and results. * Use established guidelines and methods in addition to a variation of methods in changing situations. * Specialized training and experience to be able to assess and interpret complex data that impact * financial funding, grants, and high level decisions. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES: * Demonstrated experience in the identification of appropriate assessment methods and process surveys, and direct the analysis of assessment data documentation of processes and results. * Provide a perspective and focus through both qualitative and quantitative data concerning justice, equity and inclusion that can impact practice, process, policy and planning to achieve actionable change. * Use established guidelines and methods in addition to a variation of methods in changing situations. * Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects simultaneously; design, organize, and manage complex projects. * Strong writing and oral communication skills, as well as the ability to present complex data in a clear and concise manner. * Knowledge of state and federal agencies and regulations pertaining to data collection and research in higher education or not-for-profit organizations * Capacity for collaborative management and motivation of a team to reach established goals. * Expertise in working effectively and collegially with diverse constituent's on-campus and in the community, maintaining an approach and a working environment that is welcoming to persons of all backgrounds. * Creativity, flexibility, tenacity, optimism, high energy level, and sense of humor Additional Information: Please note MassArt does not provide: * Employment-based visa sponsorship or non-student exchange visitor visa sponsorship. * Reimbursement for travel.
