The Associate Content Administrator, reporting to the Director of Content Strategy Science & Health Sciences, will coordinate market research, peer review, and student insight into a variety of content experiences ranging from science text, art, video, multimedia, virtual labs and simulations, to online homework and problem sets for the higher education student audience. This position is an entry level role in educational media product & content acquisitions, development and validation with the opportunity to work cross-functionally and develop professional skills in customer communication, sales support, product and content marketing, product management, tech operations, and human resources.

o Candidate should be able to track their completed tasks, as well as those in progress to ensure resolutions in a timely manner

o This role will introduce the candidate to a number of different workflows with varying degrees of priority. In conjunction with their team, the candidate will be expected to learn to evaluate the urgency of requests and prioritize their schedule accordingly.

o An ability to diagnose issues and identify the steps to correct them will be key.

o If they are unable to resolve an issue on their own, candidate should show initiative and feel comfortable sharing any identified issues with the team to help resolve problems. As part of a team, candidate should always feel comfortable asking for help.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage in partnership with Content & Productd Managers the review process for new content and capabilities. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Sending out surveys, writing questionnaires, setting up focus groups with qualified faculty and students

  • Collating survey results

  • Paying honorariums to review and focus group participants

  • Updating and maintaining a reviewer database

  • Product and Content Quality Control

  • Submit and manage content corrections

  • Ensure product data integrity (ie follow product setup guidelines to make sure all data fields are correct and flowing to the appropriate catalogs)

  • Author/Contributor support:

  • Create purchase orders for contracted work

  • Submit contracts using Pearson secure legal and operating systems including Rights Management, Royalties and Finance.

  • Check status of payments with Accounts Payable group

  • Ensure royalty information is in place, accurate

  • Point person to ensure authors receive pre-revision materials (competitor's titles for review) and that post publication materials are received (completed copies of their text)

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree or Associate's Degree preferred

English speaking & writing with fluency

Ability to work remote beginning date of hire (internet service required) as well as to come into the office regularly in Boston, San Franciso or Hoboken.

Skilled with Microsoft Office, Teams, Outlook, Excel and ability to learn new data entry and management systems quickly including Oracle Business Suite

Interest in educational product and content creation
