Associate Director of Graduate Admissions - Admission Communications
Suffolk University invites qualified candidates to apply for our Associate Director of Graduate Admissions opening. Reporting to the Director of Graduate Admission, the Associate Director of Graduate Admission will provide leadership, innovation, and technical expertise to manage the successful recruitment outreach for prospective graduate students to the College of Arts and Sciences and the Sawyer Business School. Through close collaboration with the Director, Program Directors, Office of Marketing Communications, Graduate Admission staff, and external vendors, the Associate Director will ensure an effective and compelling multi-channel communications strategy is in place and executed to attract, nurture, and convert prospective students through the admissions cycle. Additionally, this position serves as a general member of the recruitment staff, providing support for application review, recruitment travel, and participation in on-campus, off-campus, and online events.

This position will coordinate and implement comprehensive and integrated communication strategies for all print, email, and telephone communications. This position will provide oversight, ongoing maintenance, and assessment for all short-term and long-term strategies, track trends, and benchmark processes against peer and aspirant institutions, as well as industry standard best practices.
Manages a portfolio of programs, working closely with academic program directors to attract top-quality applicants to Suffolk University’s graduate certificate, masters, and doctoral programs. Represent Suffolk University domestically and internationally, as needed. Collaborates with Director on program goals and recruiting methods. Advises prospective students and follows up to convert inquiries to applicants and admits to matriculating students. Reviews admission applications.
This position is expected to track results and, when necessary, provide ongoing analytic reports to senior management in order to determine effectiveness of strategies across all communication mediums.
Supervision of the full-time Graduate Admissions Counselor/Communications Specialist.
Keep abreast of available technology both in market and specifically in the CRM area. Find ways to use new technology and functionality to enhance or transform the communication strategy and implement that strategy.
Master’s Degree strongly preferred
5-7 years of relevant, demonstrated experience in admissions, sales, or marketing
Proficient in MS Office platforms. Working knowledge of CRM systems to execute communication plans, with a preference for experience with Technolutions’ Slate CRM
Demonstrated understanding of best practices in social media platforms for promotional purposes
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a diverse work environment
Excellent written and oral communication skills including the ability to write a wide variety of concise, engaging and professional material directed to a wide variety of internal and external audiences
Knowledge of best practices in communication across multiple platforms
Ability to manage the details while understanding the larger impact of systems work
Must be 18 years old, have at least two years of driving experience and have a valid driver’s license from the U.S. or U.S. Territories; must submit to an annual driver record check and maintain an acceptable driving record per university and/or insurance carrier requirements; must complete the University driver safety training within 60 days of hire and additional driver training as needed.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally, including having a valid passport
Ability working nights and weekends as required for recruiting events
Understanding of basic HTML, website design/development and web publishing a plus
