Boston University COMMUNICATION AND OUTREACH MANAGER, College of Arts & Sciences, Computer Science in BOSTON, Massachusetts

Come join our team with the Department of Computer Science! The Communications and Outreach Manager is an integral member of our departments team, working closely with faculty, staff, and students to facilitate the departments communications, outreach, DE&I, and alumni engagement activities.

The Communications and Outreach Manager will work with department leadership to:

  • Lead the development and oversight of the departments online presence and social media (@bucompsci), marketing strategies, and communications supporting CS programs and initiatives;

  • Develop and maintain recruiting materials, manage recruiting events, travel to college fairs and conferences such as Grace Hopper and Tapia;

  • Create and sustain departmental DE&I programming and resources, serving as the chair of the departments DE&I committee, and represent the department in wider university DE&I initiatives;

  • Develop and provide leadership to the departments career services and corporate partners programming;

  • Work with Development and Alumni Relations to engage in alumni outreach strategies and programming;

  • Manage communications and outreach student staff.

Required Skills

  • B.A./B.S., and 5+ years of related experience required.

    The ideal candidate will have a strong sense of organization, must be detail-oriented, and also have the abilities to be flexible and work comfortably both independently, as part of a team, and with other university and external stakeholders.

    A hybrid work schedule is available for this role.
