Job Description

The Communication Research Center (CRC) connects students, faculty, and researchers to the exciting developments in communication research. The CRC effectively uses the most advanced theory and methods for examining communication.

This is an unparalleled opportunity to help advance communication research at Boston University. The Lab & Research Manager will be integral to the day-to-day operations and administration of the CRC. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining all facilities and technologies in the CRC, as well as be proactive and responsive to all requests regarding the access and use of these resources by students, faculty, and external clients. Additionally, the Lab & Research Manager will be expected to be comfortable with technology, as this position will include training in the Center's array of research equipment (e.g., the iMotions biometrics research platform, virtual reality workstation), managing the Center's research reservations (via the online QReserve system) and administering the College's research participant pool (through the online SONA Systems platform).

The Lab & Research Manager will also help facilitate research conducted within the College of Communication. This individual will work closely with faculty on grant proposals, including taking the initiative to bring grant opportunities to the attention of faculty researchers.

This position will also have a significant online presence. The Lab & Research Manager will coordinate and promote CRC sponsored events, manage online content such as CRC news through the website and social media, and produce the CRC biannual newsletter.

This is a 3-year term position.

Required Skills

Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred. Five to eight years’ work experience. Must be able to multi-task and have excellent time management skills. Must be comfortable with technology to be able to train others. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
