Boston University DIGITIZATION AND STACKS COORDINATOR, School of Law, Samuel M. Fineman Law Library and Pappas Law Library in BOSTON, Massachusetts
Working as a member of the Access Services team, the Digitization & Stacks Coordinator is independently responsible for planning, oversight, and day-to-day maintenance of the Law Library print collections and oversees all digitization workflows and initiatives.
Responsibilities will include:
Manage stack maintenance operations.
Ensure continuous organization and accessibility of all print collections, including monitoring capacity and ensuring adequate space for continuous growth of legal collections.
Provide circulation services to library users.
Supervise and train student employees; design trainings and draft comprehensive how-to documentation.
Open the library Tuesdays-Saturdays, and ensure that the library's circulation/reserve desk is staffed.
Provide information and direct library users in the use and services of the law library.
Oversee and ensure timely and accurate retrievals, execute comprehensive searches for missing materials, and oversee library hold shelf and management of in-process items.
Comprehensively oversee, manage, and design digitization workflows, including patron scan-on-demand requests, controlled digital lending initiatives, and scanning of fragile materials. Maintain comprehensive knowledge of library scanning equipment and liaise with service providers to ensure reliable scanning services with minimal downtime. Make recommendations for purchases of new scanning equipment.
Assist in the overall management of library operations, participating in the oversight of library spaces, equipment, collections, and services.

Demonstrated customer service skills
Associate's Degree and 1-3 years of experience in a library or similar environment.
Experience with using library catalogs and ability to use basic business software (e.g. Microsoft Office)
Demonstrated written and verbal communication skill
Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to utilize critical thinking to resolve problems.
Stack maintenance and/or shelving experience
Experience using an ILS, especially ExLibris Alma
Project management experience
