Director, Budget & Reporting will lead the budget process by developing, forecasting & monitoring annual operating budgets for academic, clinical and administrative units. Monitor spendable endowments, gifts and discretionary accounts, core, clinical and MOU billing. Provides insightful analysis, metrics, and reporting to guide decision-making.
This position reports to the Associate Dean for Financial & Administrative Operations and is responsible for providing leadership, oversight, training, and central resource support for the financial and administrative activities in the School of Medicine. The Director will work closely with central offices and BU administrative and academic departments to maintain and enhance the centralized services being provided by the Dean's office.
Bachelor's degree required, Master’s degree preferred and 8+ years of experience in a related field required. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, communication, customer service, analytical, organizational, and project management skills; knowledge of higher education budget drivers, financial planning and analysis, and accounting; strong business acumen; track record of working with technology leadership to manage financial management and reporting systems; experience streamlining, refining, and automating financial processes; advanced-level MS Office skills, especially Excel (pivot tables, macros, vlookups); Seek someone with a collaborative and flexible management style who is persuasive and diplomatic in effecting change, strives for continuous improvement, and is willing to “roll-up their sleeves”.
