The Director, Faculty Entrepreneurship in the Technology Development Office is responsible for supporting research-led creation of entrepreneurial enterprises. The Director is responsible for creating supporting processes for (a) encouraging entrepreneurial activity among faculty, (b) connecting faculty with the local entrepreneurial ecosystem, (c) linking them with educational, mentoring, and/or accelerator opportunities in collaboration with Innovate@BU, (d) guiding faculty through the administrative processes within the institution with regard to incubation, sponsored research, licensing, conflicts of interest, and any other applicable policies/procedures, and (e) administering the gap funding programs supported through Technology Development.

Required Skills

Preferred Experience: Part of a founding team of a technology startup that was venture-backed, or has been at a venture capital firm/accelerator and participated actively in financing technology startups, preferable in life sciences. Has provided coaching/mentoring to faculty-led start-ups in an academic setting. A natural networker that is service minded and looks to support faculty and help them achieve their commercialization goals. A comprehensive network of senior technology entrepreneurs, angel investors and venture capital investing partners. Technical and business education. Bachelor's Degree required, Master's preferred. Salary Competitive.
